Welcome back to another review. If you hadn’t seen my haul video a couple of months ago I brought this little beauty from Makeup Revolution, now I feel i’m ready to give my opinion.
The palette is a simple black, with a matte finish. Which is quite nice, basic but nice. Its fairly small and very thin so i’d say probably ideal for traveling and the colour selection inside is great.
Inside you will find 16 great colours. All perfect for someone loving of a sultry smokey eye or a sophisticated neutral day look. Another thing I loved is the size of the mirror! It’s huge. I really like that Makeup revolution also give a sheet with the names of each shade on, I’ve been remembering to keep mine so I can reference them when using them!
The lighter shades in the palette don’t have as much colour payoff as some of the darker shimmery shadows. One thing i’ll note is the great range of matte and shimmery tones in the palette, for once a palette with more than just 2 matte shadows. Saying that about the lighter toned shadows, if you use the matte white called “ghost” as a base, it can help the pigment in the other shadows standout without needing the layer them too much!
Below are the swatched shadows.
These photos have not been edited or enhanced at all, what you see in the picture is how to swatch really looks.
As you can see in the swatches the darker colours have great colour pay off, as do some of the lighter shades, but some of them are a little disappointing.
Over all thoughts on the palette. I really do love it! The shadows are somewhat build-able and they are super easy to blend which is always a bonus in my eyes! Have I even mentioned the price? £6.99… yes you are seeing that correct. £6.99. So for the price I think your getting a really good product overall. I’ll definitely be trying out more of the palettes and products makeup revolution have to offer.
